During Raksha Bandhan 2013, Meeta Manglani hand-made a rakhi to tie on her namesake brother, Jitin Hingorani. Jitin was touched by the gesture and loved the rakhi immensely, but as is the case with most rakhis, it fell apart in a few weeks. He was saddened by not having this keepsake any longer and thus, the idea of forever rakhi was born.

Meeta, a jewelry designer by profession, typically hand-made rakhis for all her brothers and cousins every year. Inspired by the idea, she started designing durable, fashion-forward rakhis, which all morphed into the “Forever Rakhi” brand.
